There’s a big game coming up next Sunday. Ah yes, the Super Bowl. America’s excuse to yell at the TV, drink beer, and eat chips. Our team didn’t make it to the final game, but we still like to get together with our Packer/Viking/Seahawk friends to watch the game, critique the halftime show, and eat and drink.
This pizza dip appetizer is the perfect dish to bring to a Super Bowl party. It’s addictive. Guys dig it.
This pizza dip recipe is from my mom, who used to make it during football games when my brother and I were teenagers. The dip never lasted long. My mom always served her Pizza Dip with tortilla chips. I like to serve it with a variety of choices (chips, slices of crusty bread, crackers).
1 cup light mayonnaise (I use Hellman’s)
4 oz. shredded cheddar cheese
4 oz. shredded mozzarella cheese
4 oz. sliced black olives
4 oz. sliced green olives
4-5 mushrooms, sliced and cooked
1 large green pepper, diced
1 large red pepper, diced
1/2-3/4 pkg. of pepperoni (I use turkey)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Transfer dip to a casserole dish.
Bake for approximately 30-40 minutes until heated through and top is golden.
Serve pizza dip with crusty bread, crackers, and tortilla chips.
