Grilled Cheese Party

by kara on December 12, 2011

Our friends Keith and Trycia  hosted a grilled cheese party on Saturday night.  What a brilliant idea!  Who doesn’t love melted cheese, crusty bread, beer, and wine in the company of fabulous friends?

Keith has always claimed that his grilled cheese recipe is one of the best.   Keith’s “Old Fashion” Grilled Cheese was a slight variation from his Grandma’s recipe: Pepperidge Farm Hearty White Bread with Colby Jack Cheese (baked in the oven on low). He also added 2 other recipes to the mix: “The Sconie,” a Ciabatta roll with Cheddar, Mozzarela, parmesan, and dried oregano (grilled on the stovetop) and “The New Wave” with mozzarella, fresh basil, and sliced tomato on French bread (baked at 375 degrees).  All 3 recipes fit the craving for grilled cheese comfort food, however we all agreed that The Sconie had our vote for best grilled cheese sandwich (sorry Keith’s Grandma!).

A party at Keith and Trycia’s would not be complete without Trycia’s famous taco dip, Fulton beer, and cupcakes from Sweet Retreat!  Yum!

If you’re looking for a new party idea, have everyone over for grilled cheese. Your friends and family will love it!
