No Bake Cookies

These are my kind of cookies.  Do a Google search for No Bake Cookies, and you will find all sorts of recipes. This one is from my Grandma Renner.   With just a few ingredients, it is fun for kids to make as well.   No Bake Cookies are even a healthy treat with the addition of peanut butter and oats.  I’m choosing to ignore the sugar and butter.

No Bake Cookies

Boil in a large pan for 1 minute:

2 cups sugar

1/4 cup cocoa powder

1/2 cup skim milk

1/4 cup unsalted butter

Turn off heat and add:

1/2 cup natural peanut butter

1 tsp. vanilla

3 cups old fashioned oats

Stir until combined and drop by teaspoons on wax paper.  Cool before eating.

As soon as I saw ‘No Bake Cookies’ I knew…. just KNEW which ones they were..

This was one of the very first recipes I ever made on my own. I loved these cookies. Still love them. Still could eat half the recipe, even before they cool down. What’s not to love??!
