Last fall, I was thrilled to learn that the same version of Kingfield Farmers Market was going to be coming to the Fulton Neighborhood in Southwest Minneapolis and would be located within walking distance from our house. The Fulton Farmers Market opened on May 21st and will run every Saturday through October 29th. The market is located in the parking lot of Lake Harriet United Methodist Church on 49th/Chowen Ave South. Jack and I walked down to the market last Saturday to check things out. The market appears to have some of the our same favorite vendors (Chef Shack, Foxy Falafel, Sun Street Breads) as the Kingfield Farmers Market. I was happy to see a few newcomers such as Patisserie 46 and Gai Gai Thai.
We first stopped at Sunshine Harvest Farm stand to pick up some lamb brats. We got them from Sunshine Harvest last year and were happy to see they were available again. Be on the lookout for chickens in a week or so.
Jack ordered a Pan Au Chocolat from Pattisserie 46 for breakfast. We also came home with a loaf of the Multigrain bread. Mmmmmm. Perfect bread with a spread of brie on top.
We also had to grab a Domino and Ginger cookie to-go from Sun Street Bakery.
I was in search of vegetables, but wasn’t able to find any this early in the season. There were a few stands with herbs, flowers, and canned goods. I’ll be volunteering at the market on a few Saturdays. Stop on by, grab yourself some goods, and support our local community.
